The Academy

The Academy is an online resource centre for people in the waste industry. It is packed full of easy to access answers to commonly asked questions, advice and guidance.

It can be a challenge for companies and individuals to know what regulations apply to their activities and to understand how to stay compliant. Guidance from regulators is often lengthy, complex and does not answer specific questions. The consequences of getting it wrong can include increased costs, fines, site closure and even prosecutions.

That’s why we want to make regulatory compliance easier for you. You won’t find any long pages of text here, there is already so much of that available elsewhere. Here, the information is delivered by way of videos in which we talk to you to address specific issues, without any legal-speak.

Westbury Environmental helped us set up a Materials Management Plan to bring in clean soils from other areas to our development site. They provided concise views on whether soils from sites would be acceptable and wrote the Verification Report to show that the development was completed in accordance with the CL:AIRE code of practice. This provided us with confidence that we were fully compliant.
